Nationwide Strike Call on 22-05-2023
Meeting of G20 Countries being organized by India on 22-24 May, 2023 in the disputed territory of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir against Resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and its Charter.
Mr. Haroon-ur-Rashid, Vice-Chairman and Mr. Hassan Raza Pasha, Chairman, Executive Committee of the Pakistan Bar Council have vehemently condemned the decision and act of Indian Government to hold G20 Countries meeting on 22-24 May, 2023 in disputed territory of Srinagar, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK), which is against the Resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and is also in violation of the principles of the UN Charter and international law. They expressed that Srinagar has been at the Centre of an uprising for the Kashmiri fighters against Indian occupation since 1989.
They further expressed that such events cannot hide the reality of Jammu and Kashmir being an internationally recognized dispute that has remained on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council from last many decades. Such like activities could not change the reality and divert international community’s attention from India’s brutal suppression upon the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir including illegal attempts to change the demographic composition of the occupied territory.
They have announced complete STRIKE from all the Courts throughout the Country for MONDAY, THE 22ND May, 2023, as a mark of complete protest against decision of Indian Government for holding G20 Tourism Working Group meeting in disputed territory of Srinagar, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) and to express solidarity with the peoples of Jammu & Kashmir.
