Mr. Riazat Ali Sahar, Vice Chairman and Mr. Farooq Hamid Naek, Chairman, Executive Committee, Pakistan Bar Council have expressed their deep concerns and anxious over the today’s statement of the Commissioner Rawalpindi division, whereby he tried to involve the Chief Justice of Pakistan in the allegations of rigging in the General election, whereas infact the Chief Justice of Pakistan has no concern with the Election process. They have expressed Bar cannot afford such like baseless criticism over Chief Justice of Pakistan and sitting judges of the Supreme Court and said that such a trend will undermine the Superior Judiciary.

They said that the entire Electoral Process is only the domain of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). They expressed that the Pakistan Bar Council considers the above said statement of the Commissioner to be a malicious attempt to raise a controversy qua the esteemed office of the Chief Justice of Pakistan which is not tolerable, in any way.

They demanded from all relevant authorities, to investigate allegations of the Former Commissioner Rawalpindi which has been levelled without any evidence only to achieve ulterior motives. They reiterated earlier stance of the Pakistan Bar Council that legal fraternity is stand with the Chief Justice of Pakistan and Institution of the Judiciary.
