PRESS RELEASEMr. Hafeez-ur-Rehman Chaudhry, Vice-Chairman and Pir Muhammad Masood Chishti, Chairman, Executive Committee of the Pakistan Bar Council, have expressed that every person has fundamental right to protest and participate in political activity in the Country and the Government should not create any kind of hindrance and obstacle against them from exercising their fundamental right.

They have stated that Police raids being conducted on the residence of political workers/citizens are unwarranted and are against the law and the Constitution, they have condemned the raids on the residences of lawyers and their arrests and have also expressed concerns that senior lawyers like Dr. Babar Awan, Advocate, Supreme Court have also not been allowed to perform their professional duty.

Therefore, they have demanded that Government should refrain from taking such steps which are against the law and Constitution and everyone should be allowed to freely exercise his fundamental right as per Constitution and law.
