Mr. Riazat Ali Sahar, Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Bar Council, has warmly welcomed and expressed appreciation for yesterday’s recommendations of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan. These recommendations include the unanimous nomination of Mr. Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui, Acting Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, and Miss Justice Aalia Neelum, Judge of the Lahore High Court, as the new Chief Justices of their respective courts. On behalf of the Pakistan Bar Council, he extended heartiest congratulations to both for their nominations.

He further expressed that both judges are competent, upright, and independent, with unquestionable integrity and high respect within the society and legal fraternity as well. He paid tribute to the entire Judicial Commission for nominating Miss Justice Aalia Neelum as the first female Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, marking a historic milestone in the Lahore High Court. He expressed that it is expected that relations between Bench and Bar during their tenure would be cordial.
