Syed Amjad Shah, Vice-Chairman, Pakistan Bar Council, has welcomed and
appreciated the contemplated move/initiation as to filling of the vacant
post of a Judge in the Supreme Court of Pakistan caused on account of
retirement of former Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, by a very competent
and upright former Judge of the Lahore High Court Mr. Justice (R)Qazi
Muhammad Amin.

While welcoming the move of considering the name of Mr. Justice (R) Qazi
Muhammad Amin for being appointed as Judge of the Supreme Court of
Pakistan, the Vice-Chairman, Pakistan Bar Council, re-iterating the stance
of the Pakistan Bar Council, has also urged upon the Judicial Commission
of Pakistan that in future direct appointments of Judges of the apex Court
should also be made from among Advocates as provided in the Constitution
which provision has never been adhered to ever since the 1973 Constitution
of Pakistan, was promulgated.
