PRESS RELEASE

CONDEMNATION OF QUETTA CARNAGE

Mr. Abid Saqi, Vice-Chairman, Pakistan Bar Council, has strongly condemned the carnage at Quetta when more than a dozen innocent citizens belonging to Hazara Community were barbarically slained in Bolan District of Baluchistan. He has deplored the inaction and utter failure of the Government and law enforcement agencies to check and control the law and order situation and ensure safety and security of the people. He criticized the Government functionaries for their inhuman attitude and failure to address the grievances and demands of hundreds of family members of ill-fated victims, who are sitting in open under the sky in minus temperature, for the last couple of days alongside Coffins carrying dead bodies of their loved ones and waiting for categorical personal assurance by the Prime Minister that right of life to members of their community in Pakistan, especially in Baluchistan, may be ensured.

While supporting demands of victims families, he has also demanded of the Federal and Provincial Governments, for immediate strictest action against the culprits and fool proof security measures for providing safety of life to members of the Hazara Community of Baluchistan.
